March 371, 1943 A regular meeting ofthe Executive Committee of P. Lorillard Company was held'today at the office ofthe Company, 119'West 40th Street, New York City. There were present Messrs.: G. H. Hummel H. A. Kent G. D. Whitefield E. S. Bowling W. J. Halley J. S. Freeman F. Hopewell H. F. Temple Tod&YYool Mr., Hummel, Chairman, presided, andithe Secretary acted as Secretary ofthe meeting. On motion duly made and seconded!,, the reading of the minutes ofthe previous meetingwas dispensed'with. On motion of Mr. Kent, seconded!by Mr. Hopewell, it was unan imously RE.SOLVED,: That the action of the President and the Treasurer ofthis Company in renewing on March 29', 1943, on behalf of this Company, the loan made September 28, 1942, from the State PLanters Bank and Trust Company, R:ichmond!, Virginia, in the snua of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars (650C,000, and in executing and delivering in the name of this Company its promissory note evidencing, said debt, bearing date of March 29, 1943, and payable at said bank ninety (90),days from said date, with interest at the rate of 1~1% per annum from said date, be and'the same hereby is in all respects approved, ratified, and confirmed. Contract da:ted March 22, 1943 for a page advertisement of Company products in~ program for the 19th Annual Dinner Dance of the Chicago Association of Tobacco Distributors, Chicago„ Illinois, at a cost of $1,000. The Secretary laid before the meeting the following: Agreement with Tide Water Associated Oil Company dated March 19, 1943, for purchase of lubricating oils and greases as therein set out, for a period twelve months from February 15, 1943, under terms and conditions fully set out therein; Agreement with Standard Oil Company (of Kentucky) for the purchase oflubri- cating oils and greases for use at the Louisville, Ky. plant of the Company, for one year from March 15, 1943, and from year to year thereafter unless 30-days written notice of intention to cancel is given by either party to the other prior to any termination date; each of which~ On~ motion of Mr. Freeman, seconded by llfr.
