There were present Messrs.: G. H. Hummel H. A'. Kent G. D. VPhitefield. E. S. Bowling W. Ji. Hall.leyr Ji., S. Freeman. F. Hopewell H. F. Temple L. E. Clemens, Asst. Secty. Mr. Hummel, Chairman, presided and the Assistant Secretary acted as Secre- tary of the meeting. On motion duly made and seconded, the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. On motion of Mr. Hopewell,, seeonded by Mr. Temple, it was unanimously RESOLVED: That the employment of' Louis ArithoMy Guazzo as warehouse packer,, at a salary at the rate of' $20' per week, effective December 1, 19432 with the authorization of the Sales Dept. and the approval of G.D. whd.tefield, Executive. Goodman, in charge' of'redrying machine at Shelbyville, Ky., be fixed at the rate of $35per week, effective December 6, 1943, in accordance with customary rate of'pay for this seasonal work in the hanciling, and redrying of leaf' tobaeco. On motion of' Mr. whitefield, seconded by Mr. Hopewell, the following advertising expenditure was in all respects approved'y ratified, and con- firmed: l:ontract dated December 1, 1943with Football Publications, fiew York City, covering advertising of OhD~GOLD Cigar.ettes in program to be prepared for the Rose Bow1 Football Game to be played January 1,, 19", at a cost of $291.55.
