Ther~will be a hearing before the "council o~'~ole" on Monday, June 1, 1987 at 7:00 pm, at which time this legislation will be discussed. It will be open to the public. It is believed that these two pieces of legislation will be incorporated into one. The proposed ordinance by Sponsor Joe Grady was rejected at the 5/18/87 meeting. This smoking restriction proposal would have restricted smoking in private industry as well as city-owned buildings. Councilman Daryl Revoldt however proposed a policy or ordinance be voted on before the full council on Tuesday, 5/26/87 which would restrict smoking to designated areas in enclosed buildings owned, leased or controlled by the city. No reference to private industry. This meeting will be held at the Council Chambers, 145 North Main Street, at 7:00 pm.
