I understand that the application will be submitted in partnership with the New Jersey Division of the American Cancer Society and' is intended to develop tobacco control activities to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality by reducing the prevalence of smoking. We see a very strong need in this state for activities related to the above-stated goal. The 100 home health care providers in our membership care for over 150,000 homebound persons in this state. Many of these patients suffer from chronic illnesses, such as emphysema, which are directly related too smoking.
